What Is Magstand?
Magstand is a compact magnetic bracket system designed to support equipment by allowing items to rest across two open steel brackets.
When positioned correctly, laptops, diagnostic tools, meters, tablets etc can rest across the top edges of the brackets, forming a stable working platform without permanent fixings.
Each bracket contains a high-strength neodymium channel magnet. When used together, the pair supports up to 14 kg of vertical load.
Because the brackets are independent, they can be positioned to work around real-world site constraints — including cable looms, trunking, pipework, gland plates or other obstructions that would prevent the use of a fixed shelf or clamp system.
Magstand turns existing steel infrastructure into a usable support system — temporarily and without modification.
Features
Portable Support System
Two folding steel brackets provide secure resting points for equipment to sit across.
Obstacle-Aware Positioning
Independent placement allows you to avoid cables, conduit, trunking and other fixed components inside panels or enclosures.
Strong Magnetic Retention
High-strength neodymium channel magnets ensure secure vertical holding force on suitable ferrous surfaces.
Mechanical Locking Hinge
Push-button locking mechanism holds the bracket firmly at 90 degrees during use.
Compact Folded Profile
Slim enough to carry inside a tool bag — or even a trouser pocket when folded.
Benefits
Hands-Free Operation
Reduces the need to physically hold a laptop, tablet or test instrument during commissioning or diagnostics.
Improved Workflow Efficiency
Keeps tools and equipment elevated, accessible and organised within reach.
Minimal Space Requirement
Works inside confined panels where traditional shelves or stands would not fit.
Highly Portable
Weighs 0.8 kg and folds to 300mm × 30mm × 30mm. Small enough for everyday carry.
No Installation Required
No drilling, no clamps, no permanent modifications to client equipment.
Suitable Applications
Magstand is suitable anywhere a temporary support is required on a ferrous surface, including but not limited to:
Electrical control panels
HVAC systems
MCC boards
Switchboards
Industrial plant rooms
Data centre cabinets
Workshop environments
Mechanical rooms
Automotive workshops
Steel fabrication environments
Marine engine rooms
Temporary site cabins
Utility infrastructure
Railway signalling cabinets
Lift control panels
Renewable energy installations
If it’s steel and needs a temporary resting point, Magstand can likely support it.
Using Magstand
1. Separate the Brackets
Slide the brackets apart.
2. Attach the First Bracket
Open and firmly press onto a suitable magnetic surface.
3. Attach the Second Bracket
Repeat and position at the required width.
4. Begin Work
Â
Removing and Storing
1. Tilt and Release
Hold the front edge of the bracket, tilt it sideways to break the magnetic contact, then lift away from the surface.
2. Close Securely
Press the locking button and fold the bracket fully closed.
3. Storage
With both brackets closed, attach them together so the magnets face inward, but are not connected.Â
